Plagiarism: You Copycat!
On an irrelevant comment, I changed my layout for the timebeing. Bear with this change while I find one that suits.
I bet most of you academics were warned bout how copying and pasting research materials and claiming the work as your own lands you in hot scalding waters. What I’m surprised about is that nothing is done when other artists in a different country could profit at the expense of others. I’m pointing at you, Mr. Pritam. Don’t tell me it’s not a coincidence. I would have never found out if I didn’t pick up the latest copy of Race at my local Hindi rental shop and watched Delightful Girl Choon Hyang beforehand. Music can overcome geographical bourdaries, sure, but don’t blatantly steal it without giving credit.

Specimen Two - Pehli Nazar Mai from Race
Of course, I realize that the music industry is relentless towards its artists (Look at Hyori’s case with Get Ya and Britney Spear’s Do Somethin’). It looks like Pritam plagiarized more than one song. I’m already questioning his music credentials. But to go this low for fame? That’s despicable. Does he even know how many months a genuine artist spend in their studio to compose a three to four minute song?
What are your thoughts on this?
About Idabi
Clearly I’ve got to introduce myself properly. The last introduction was harsh in my opinion so here’s another failed attempt to describe myself.
I am a Canadian-born Bengali who dropped into the whole spellbinding world of Asian dramas by accident. If it weren’t for my otaku anime obsession, I would have totally missed out on the whole shebang and remain obsessed to 2D pixelated motion. Yarrh. Despite the garbage that the Bollywood industry is spewing out recently, I am still attached to them since birth. It’s sad no? Who knows, maybe the Bollywood industry will do a 180 and go back to its glamour and charm. Whenever that happens, I intend to chronicle whatever catches my interest. As of right now, Asian soap operas, movies, Youtube videos and digg are my sole reasons of flailing.
When I’m not blogging or surfing the net, I could be found stressing out in your local exam room, singing my happy heart out as if I were a cast in Broadway, meditating in your library with contemporary classics on one side while videogaming or just lazying around under a tree.
I’m a champion at lazy blogging too.
What can I say.
